Kind LED System

Ballasts

Digital Ballasts create less heat and run more efficiently than Magnetic Ballasts and the higher wattages are often dimmable. All digital Ballasts will run Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium bulbs, magnetic ballasts usually run one of the other. On Convertible Ballasts you simply need to flip a switch when you switch bulbs.

SG Ballasts and Xtrasun magnetic ballasts

Bulbs

The bulb you buy must match the wattage of your ballast. Bulbs are available in Metal Halide (Blue spectrum for vegetative Growth) and High Pressure Sodium (Red Spectrum for the flowering stage). Conversion Bulbs are also available, so you can get Metal Halide light from a High Pressure Sodium Ballast or vice versa.

Reflectors

Most reflectors can accommodate any bulb size but we recommend an air-cooled or a flanged hood for 1000W bulbs because they get very hot and can be hazardous in lightweight, unventilated hoods.
